Holy Carp! The time is upon us. We on Second Nature were honored to win the West Coast Regional of the Chicago Improv Festival’s College Improv Tournament back in November, and now we’re off to the FINALS in Chicago. It’s a big deal for us, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.

If you’re interested in seeing how we’re doing, CIF will actually be webcasting the tournament here. We’re in the first round, so you can check us out live at 1pm Central Time (so 11am for all you west coasters).

Time has really flown by. It seems just yesterday we brought on our newbies, Chris and Ian, who we’ve still yet to add to the site. But we’ve still got time, right? It’s not like the semester is quickly coming to an end…

Well, so it goes. One semester nearly down, one more on the horizon. Things to look forward to in the coming semester:

• Fracas! VII
• Alumni Shows
• College Improv Tournament Finals
• New Troupe Pictures (we promise)

I’m going to jump on this opportunity to announce that for the second year in a row, Second Nature has won the West-Coast Regional Championship of the Chicago Improv Festival’s College Improv Tournament (CIF’s CIT)! We’ll be traveling to Chicago in February to compete in the finals, and we’re incredibly excited.

But I do seem to be getting ahead of myself. Our last show of this semester is rapidly approaching: FRIDAY, December 4 at 11pm (Ground Zero as always). Come and celebrate the end of a wonderful year with us.

It’s April 9, and the Sixth Annual Fracas! Improv Festival is upon us. This year, we have 23 troupes performing from states across the US, including Washington, Colorado, Arizona, Indiana, Massachusetts, and more. We’re also holding professional discussion panels with cast members of The Office, Reno 911!, The Daily Show, Human Giant, 30 Rock, and more. Performances are every night from 6pm-midnight at The Ground Zero Performance Cafe on Friday and Saturday, and Auditorium 123 of The Seely G Mudd Building.  For all the festival information, visit http://www.2nimprov.com/fracas .
